We have been so blessed by our precious gift from God. Katerina Maria "Katya" was officially adopted into our family on September 1, 1999. In her native country of Russia there was little hope that this precious girl, who has a bilateral cleft lip and palate, would ever receive the medical help she needed. At 12 months of age Katya weighed just 10 pounds. Since arriving in the States she has blossomed in every area, even gaining 6 pounds in 3 & 1/2 weeks! When we first pursued adoption my husband and I wanted the "healthiest of the healthy." We are so thankful God used some wonderful friends to change our heart and open our eyes to the plight of these children. Our beautiful daughter is the light of our life and the joy of our hearts. She is a ray of sunshine! We pray that God may use us to encourage you to consider adopting one of these precious children.
