Adoption: Cambodian Orphan
Contact: Jenifer
During her recent stay in Cambodia (where she went to adopt our second son), my partner Julie became acquainted with a little cleft-affected boy in the Nutrition Center Orphanage in Phnom Penh who is available for adoption. His name is Roath Piseth (pronounced like this: Ro-awt Pee-set, with "Piseth" being the first name). He's about a year to a year and a half old. Aside from a severe unilateral cleft, he seems very healthy, hearty, beautiful, and presents no other apparent health problems or genetic anomalies. Julie asked me to post a message on cleft-talk about him, and I'm doing so now.
Anyone who is interested in possibly adopting this child -- or wants to know about adopting other orphans from Cambodia, especially special-needs kids -- please feel free to contact us by private e-mail (my address:
Jlraina@aol.com). We have photos of Roath Piseth and of some other children who are certifiably orphaned and available for adoption. The process of adopting in Cambodia used to be extremely lengthy and difficult, but it has
become somewhat more streamlined and accessible in the past year or two. And there are a lot of children there who need good, loving families. Both our sons are from Cambodia; both are brave, beautiful and bright; both have
special needs (Makara is cleft-affected, Vanarith has dysplasia) -- and adoption has been a miracle in our lives.
Best to all --
- Jenifer (Jlraina@aol.com)
