It is a "before and after" shot. The left side was taken on 6/12/97, the day
before lip surgery (Erika was 4 months old). The right side was taken 4 months later on
10/16/97 - the day before palate surgery (Erika was 8 months old). Isn't it an amazing
picture?! Her surgeon can really perform miracles!

This is a close-up of Erika after her palate
surgery. Her surgeon also worked on her nose. You can see her nasal stent here. It was
stitched into place during the surgery to keep it in place.

| Here is another picture of Erika, 2 weeks
after her palate surgery. We had to use Micropore tape to hold the stent in place. It was
unstitched 1 week after surgery. This was on Halloween, 1997.

October 17, 1997. After a rough day
recovering from her palate surgery Erika was admitted to the PICU. Luckily she pulled
through and was out by the next morning. She's a fighter!
