Lindsey's Abbé Flap Surgery, page 2
Day 12. Finally a smile! Still can't get rid of that glassy look though! Limited speech ability but not from lack of effort -- our little chatterbox did her best to communicate!
Day 14. Minutes before surgery to release the lips. She is opening her mouth as wide as she can!!
After Surgery #2. "I can open my mouth -- see?" Lips were released and columella was lengthened. This procedure was done on an outpatient basis. We were in and home by noon!

Two months later and happy as a clam with one year-old brother Drake.
Although still healing, the results of the procedure are very good. A muscle in her top lip was also repaired and with practice, Lindsey is gaining control of her top lip which before she had very little. She can now pucker like a fish and is quite a kisser!!
