This is Marley about 5 hours old. He was born with a
bilateral cleft lip and palate. This photo was taken the first time he met his
dad, Joe. One of my favorite pics, as you can see Joe just saw his beautiful
son, cleft lip and all.

A true widesmile. It took a
bit of trial and error with the tape to protect his cheeks from the obturator
plate, but we finally found an excellent one called duoderm, which peeled off
very easily.
|

Looking good in blue!

Marley wearing his obdurator plate. Approximately 10 weeks
old. This is the face I grew to love. Took a while for me to get use to his
new face post-op.

A little sore, bruised and swollen. This is Marley (12
weeks) after his lip revision. He was drinking from his squeeze bottle 6 hours
after surgery (as per PS instructions). I think it was harder for his family
than for him.

|

Here's Marley (7 months) about to get his ears tested prior
to his palate repair. Following this test they decided to insert grommets, as
he had excess fluid in the ear.
|
|

The joys of grommets. "Mum, what are you doing? I'd
rather have wet ears than wear a head band." |
|

Hi Everyone. 10 months old and doing great. |
|

Ice cream cheers. Marley sitting with Nanny on his 1st
birthday. What an unforgettable but fantastic year. |
|

Marley is now 18 months old, and I am sure whatever lies
ahead on his journey he will meet it with the same happiness and courage he has
shown so far.
