The Mind of a Child or Teen

Is a Terrible Thing to Waste:

Pre-K to 12 Educational Resources

A note for parents: While this section is intended primarily for use by children and teens, there are many resources in this section that parents may find helpful in selecting activities to do with their children, particularly with children who do not yet read.

Also, before allowing children to surf the Net on their own, children need to be instructed about possible hazards of the Internet. For example, some of these sites included products for sale, opportunities for chatting with other young people, and forms to fill out and submit. Families need to set up their own policies in these matters, but it might be best to check out some of the guides on safely surfing the Internet to set up family guidelines. This warning is not intended to frighten anyone, simply to make the Internet experience more enjoyable. Happy surfing!

Please note: In an attempt to make the length of this page a little more manageable, I eliminated many of the sites most valuable to teachers and school library media specialists like myself in favor of those more useful to students and parents. There are many terrific links pages specifically created for educators, but if people miss the educator links here previously, please let me know, and I will create a new page as soon as possible.
